The Long Island Applied Research Center (LI-ARC) is an interdisciplinary network of LIU faculty members and students who conduct research within and for public and nonprofit agencies. While research is the centerpiece of this endeavor, the broader goal is to effectively mobilize the expertise of LIU faculty members to assist Long Island nonprofit agencies and, when possible, use these connections to enhance student learning.
Please fill out the below request with as much detail as possible so that we can attempt to match you with appropriate professors and/or students (note: please fill out one form per project request). We will explore a variety of options when trying to match the project, depending on the complexity and time frame. The project may be:
- Incorporated into an undergraduate course
- Incorporated into a graduate course
- Completed by a student as part of thesis or dissertation work, or
- Completed by an interdisciplinary group of faculty members
In all of these cases, LIU faculty members will oversee the project. Both project lead faculty members and the director of LI-ARC, Dr. Heather Parrott (firstname.lastname@example.org) are available to answer any questions. Before starting work, all parties will sign a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) to ensure that there is a common understanding of the expectations, goals, and timeframe.
